DESCRIPTION:Followed by her graceful movements\, undisputed technique and subtle yet communicative expressions Janaki Rangarajan is at the forefront of the new generation of Bharata Natyam dancers from India. In March 2019 Janaki visits The Hague to host an intensive masterclass for advanced Bharata Natyam students.\nAn inspirational intensive training for aspiring Bharata Natyam dancers located in The Netherlands. \nNew item\, music included\nBesides learning new dance material and technique the classes will also be focused on exploring ragam en talam inherent according to this item. The Day Intensive in Korzo theatre on March 9th is part of the programme. During the Day Intensive Janaki will cover the dance technique which will be further explored during the masterclass in WereldDansWerkPlaats in an item with nritta as well as abhinaya.\nIn case of International Women’s Day we celebrate the power of women by connecting it in Bharata Natyam in for example learning the principles of karanas. \nTraining and performing\nAfter the five-day masterclass the participants can continue practice and train the new choreography in the studio of WereldDansWerkPlaats. This training will be followed by the possibilities to perform during dance festivals in The Hague. \nParticipants\nThe masterclass applies to advanced Bharata Natyam dancers with at least seven till ten years of experience.
