DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\nDansvoorstelling in 2 delen: het begint met optredens vanuit vier verschillende Global dansstijlen: Kathak\, Flamenco\, Bharata Natyam en Buikdans en eindigt met een choreografie o.l.v. Chandenie Gobardhan (zij/hen)\, waarin diverse stijlen samenkomen. Haagse Global Dancers uit zoveel mogelijk verschillende disciplines die openstaan voor nieuwe verbindingen gaan op dansavontuur o.l.v. Chandenie Gobardhan en maken samen een choreografie. Deelnemers worden als danser en maker artistiek en choregrafisch uitgedaagd en zullen samen in een snelkookpan nieuwe bewegingsvormen ontwikkelen.De in Londen woonachtige Chandenie Gobardhan\, is geboren en getogen in Den Haag. Chandenie is zelf ooit begonnen als Indiase danser\, maar raakte al snel ook in de ban van Hiphop en modern. Chandenie volgde in Nederland de Fontys dansopleiding. Naast danser is Chandenie ook een getalenteerd choreograaf. Haar stijl is een smeltkroes van elementen uit de Bharata Natyam\, streetstyles en hedendaagse dans. TIP: Op 18 mei kun je tijdens het Indian Dance Festival haar Nederlandse première van Cycles zien. \n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\nProgramma\n\n\n\n20.15 Dansvoorstelling In het eerste gedeelte van de voorstelling zien we vier verschillende Global dansstijlen: Kathak\, Flamenco\, Bharata Natyam en Buikdans. De uit Calcutta afkomstige Antara Bhattacharjee zal een Thumri voor jullie dansen uit de Kathak Stijl\, (klassieke Noordindiase dans); de in Madrid geboren Rebeca Rodriquez Frohwein\, danst een Seguiriyas uit de Flamenco; Suraya Ramdas brengt de Ganesha Vandana\, uit de Bharata Natyam (Zuidindiase tempeldans); en Reeja Vinod Karrai danst de Raqs Al Assaya\, in de buikdans stijl van Said regio uit Egypte. \n\n\n\nIn het tweede gedeelte van de voorstelling is de X-change project presentatie: een prachtige nieuwe dansproductie waarin 6 dansers met verschillende dansachtergronden met elkaar op zoek gaan naar nieuwe dansvormen. SUMMARY:Global Dance Day - Workshop Connect en Create door Chandenie Gobardhan
DESCRIPTION:About this workshop\n\n\n\nChandenie Gobardhan geeft een fysieke workshop die ingaat op Chandenie’s methode\, waarin elementen van verschillende dansvormen (hiphop\, popping\, Bharata Natyam en hedendaags) samensmelten. Verwacht krachtige\, complexe en technische sequenties die zich richten op kwaliteit\, intentie en uithoudingsvermogen. Ook zullen we repertoire van Chandenie’s nieuwste werken (CREATOR en Rudra) ontdekken. Deze workshop zal onze fysieke vaardigheden\, flexibiliteit\, techniek en muzikaliteit uitdagen. \n\n\n\nAbout Chandenie Gobardhan\n\n\n\n\n\nChandenie staat bekend om hun unieke bewegingsvocabulaire en politieke perspectief. Hun stijl is een zorgvuldig samengestelde smeltkroes waarin elementen van Bharatanatyam\, streetstyle en hedendaagse dans samenkomen. Hun werk wordt meestal geleid door het verbinden van verhalen en kennis die ze hebben verzameld op hun pad in de Hindoestaanse diaspora. Hun kunstenaarschap stelt hen in staat om de belangrijke maar vaak ongehoorde verhalen te delen die ze hebben geërfd van de sterke mensen die hun weg hebben gebaand. Chandenie Gobardhan (zij/hen) is een in Londen gevestigde\, maar in Den Haag geboren artiest en begon hun training in Indiase dans op jonge leeftijd. Als kind van  geëmigreerde Surinaamse ouders was het belang van dans in hen verankerd door hun Indiase erfgoed. Chandenie heeft werk gemaakt in opdracht voor Tate Britain\, Whitechapel Gallery\, Messums Wiltshire Festival of Dance\, Northern School of Contemporary Dance\, Nike London en The Royal Docks.

DESCRIPTION:Niveau: gevorderd \n\n\n\nGlobal Dance Workshop \n\n\n\ndoor choreograaf Poernima Gobardhan met live begeleiding door Ganesh Ramnath \n\n\n\nBen jij als Bharata Natyam* danser(es) ook benieuwd naar de mogelijkheden van de bewegingstaal vanuit jouw eigen lichaam? Hoe creëer jij bewust beweging\, hoe gebruik je ruimte en hoe zet jij je abhinaya in op je eigen manier? Tijdens deze dans workshop bekijken we de bekende technische aspecten van Bharata Natyam en gaan we op zoek naar nieuwe perspectieven vanuit de techniek en het eigen lichaam. Je krijgt de kans om samen te werken met andere Global dansers onder begeleiding van de ervaren choreograaf Arnaud Kokosky Deforchaux met expertise in moderne en werelddans. Dit is een kans om dansmateriaal uit te wisselen en te leren van andere stijlen dan die van jezelf. Het resultaat wordt getoond als grande finale van de 3e editie van het Global Dance Festival op zondag 12 november. De repetities zijn op zaterdagmiddag (enkele uitzonderingen) van 7 oktober t/m 12 november. De herfstvakantie (14 t/m 22 oktober) werken we een weekend door. De auditie is op 30 september in de middag in de Regentes. Klinkt dit als je volgende uitdaging? Hij studeerde aan de STSI en bij privé docenten op Bali om zich te specialiseren in Balinese dans. Hij werkte o.a. met het Internationaal Danstheater en maakte diverse choreografieën en theatervoorstellingen met professionele en amateur dansers\, acteurs en musici die diverse culturen bij elkaar brachten. Zelf danste Arnaud in grote en kleine producties.
