Knowledge centre world dance and world music
The WereldDansWerkPlaats is currently working on establishing a knowledge centre with books and other documentation in the field of world dance forms from all over the world and also world music, which is often inextricably linked to world dance. Many world dance styles are by definition transmitted through oral traditions. In these cases, it is all the more important that teaching materials, syllabi and information are collected, preserved and made available to a wider interested audience.
WereldDansWerkPlaats has a collection of special books and image and sound carriers in the field of world dance and music. The specialization is in the field of the performing arts of Indonesia and India.
Lectures
In addition to managing this collection, we would also like to stimulate research into the current practice of world dance and world music. Lectures are regularly organized to disseminate this knowledge.
